Virginia Basketball took to Twitter this morning (Friday) to show off the newly updated court in John Paul Jones Arena.
So fresh and so clean

Huge thanks to @Connor_Sports for our brand new floor! #GoHoos pic.twitter.com/HDpgQ3BB21
DAAAAYYYYYYYUMMMM. Now, this design isn’t any different than what we’ve seen before, but as they say, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. The biggest change is the lighter wood used. Previous iterations have had no navy in the lane, and spelled CAVALIERS on either endline, but this particular design has been seen recently.
This is from last season:

As you can kind of see, the design is almost identical. Connor Sports - the US market leader in sports surfacing - handled the upgrades for the Hoos and are the official NCAA Final Four court people. While the updates are subtle, I’m all for it. The floor has a classic, clean look about it. You don’t want to end up like this:

Another Cassell pic. This time, the Virginia Tech typeface is on both ends of the court. #Hokies pic.twitter.com/z5ZvBYzDHH

What happened to the old court, though? At least one former player wants to know...
Hypothetically, what would it take for a retired player to get a piece of the old court? Prefer one with pack line tape/residue still on it https://t.co/6XEJlY4FY4
