The Virginia Cavaliers football team picked up a season opening win over William and Mary, and promptly showed their delight in the home locker room at Scott Stadium.

Jordan Ellis scored one touchdown on the ground and another on the receiving end of a Kurt Benkert pass. Benkert threw three touchdowns on the day.
Virginia returns to action next week, September 9th, at home against Indiana. The Hoosiers started the season 0-1 with a home loss to Ohio State.
