Saturday’s 28-14 road win over the Duke Blue Devils gave Virginia Cavaliers fans everything they were hoping for coming off an upset victory the week before. There is no shortage of highlights from the rain in Durham, but perhaps the most memorable play was Virginia quarterback Bryce Perkins, as he somehow escaped the jaws of a sack to drill a touchdown pass to a stretched out Evan Butts in the end zone late in the fourth quarter.
Enjoy that highlight here:
That’s good enough to include a second highlight, this time from VirginiaSportsTV and in slow motion:

While it’s the 70th time the Hoos and the Devils have met, it’s just the third time that Bronco Mendenhall has faced Duke. After Saturday’s win, he now has a 3-0 record against David Cutcliffe and company.
More highlights? More highlights!
Here’s one you probably missed if you’re just relying on the video highlights. Virginia wide receiver and punt returner Chuck Davis tried to call a fair catch in the third quarter, but was hit by Duke’s Javon Jackson.
It was a deserved penalty, but Davis did everything in his power to make sure the refs didn’t miss the call. Take a look at his own reaction:
