The ACC (finally) released the football schedules for all 14 ACC schools for the 2018 season.
Coming into today, Virginia Cavaliers fans already knew the Hoos’ out of conference schedule and the ACC foes they would be playing, but the dates remained uncertain.
Already on the calendar were matchups with Richmond in Charlottesville on Sept. 1 to open the season, a trip to Indiana the following week, a visit from Ohio University on Sept. 15, and a tune up game against Liberty the second weekend of November (Nov. 10).
Five of UVa’s eight 2018 ACC opponents were bowl eligible in 2017 with North Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Pittsburgh all likely improving off their disappointing 2017 seasons.
With it’s permanent cross-divisional opponent Louisville being locked in to come to Charlottesville on Sept. 22, the Hoos’ other Atlantic opponent in 2018 will be NC State, who will play host to UVa the following weekend on Sept. 29.
As always, the Commonwealth Cup is scheduled for the final weekend of the season, as Virginia will once again try and break the streak, this time in Blacksburg on Friday Nov. 23.
On top of the previously mentioned trips to Raleigh and Blacksburg, UVa will travel to Duke to try and push the winning streak against the Blue Devils to 4 on Oct. 20, and will travel to Georgia Tech on Nov. 17.
Filling out the ACC schedule, Virginia will host reigning Coastal division champion Miami Oct. 13, keep the winning going against North Carolina Oct. 27, and try and beat Pittsburgh for the first time since 2014 on Friday, Nov. 2.
