The LG Twins, of the South Korean Baseball League announced on Friday that former UVa and Baltimore Oriole pitcher Tyler Wilson has signed with the club on a one year deal worth $800,000.

After being drafted in the 10th round by the Baltimore Orioles in 2011, Wilson has spent the last three years between Baltimore and Norfolk, the Orioles’ AAA team. In those three seasons, he has amassed an 8-10 record and 5.02 ERA in 42 appearances.

Most reading this will almost certainly remember the 2011 Lowe’s Senior Class Award winner for his 27-7 record over his 4 years in Charlottesville. Wilson is still among the program leaders for strikeouts in a season and career appearances.

If your Korean is adequate, you can read the press release from the Twins here.

UPDATE: At STL we like to ask the hard hitting questions. Our very own Jay Pierce pointed out that Wilson is married for former Cavalier basketball player Chelsea Shine Wilson. Chelsea has called multiple basketball games this season already. How is she going to call games from Korea though?
