Tony Bennett on playing for his father in college (syracuse.com)

In a recent article that touched on the topic of dads coaching their sons at the college level, current Virginia Head Coach and former division one basketball player Tony Bennett chimed in on the conversation. Bennett, who played for his father Dick Bennett at Wisconsin-Green Bay in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, joked, “I’m still in counseling after playing for my dad [...] I’m kidding. Kind of.”

Hunter listed second in ranking on potential NCAAB breakout candidates (CBS Sports)

Kyle Boone of CBS Sports tabbed UVA redshirt sophomore De’Andre Hunter his second most likely player to break out in the 2018-19 season. Hunter, who averaged 9.2 points per game last season, expects to play a big part in the team’s ACC title defense.

UVA to scrimmage Richmond, Villanova in late October (Watch Stadium)

The private exhibition games that occur in the coming weeks allow teams to see where they stand prior to the start of the college basketball season. On Virginia’s schedule is a matchup at Richmond on October 20th and a game at home versus Villanova - which Watch Stadium ranked as the top scrimmage - a week later on the 27th.
