Former Virginia running back Daniel Hamm considered a career in the NFL this spring after graduation before deciding to run a different route — as an assistant coach on the football team and outreach counselor at Covington High School in Louisiana. Working with the Virginia College Advising Corps, which placess recent UVa grads at schools with “low-income, first-generation or under-represented college applicants,” Hamm has entered a new chapter of his life. The Roanoke Times’ Doug Doughty dives into it here.

Plans for major renovations of the Virginia athletics facilities (see here) are in the works, but it will be a long time coming before those are actually complete. In the meantime, Bronco Mendenhall spoke candidly to reporters about the cost of having what he considers to be sub-par facilities for his football team, especially when it comes to recruiting.
