So many things are happening here on STL! In case you missed it yesterday, the Hoos got a commitment from a legacy linebacker and we showed you a few games to pay attention to this weekend. But really, it’s all about basketball. It’s all about Dre Hunter, it’s all about the preseason conference poll, and it’s all about bouncing back.
Here’s what else is happening around the corner:
Virginia center Jack Salt is growing into his role as a mentor (Daily Progress)
Literally — growing. Salt is continuing to add value to the Hoos by just increasing his size and sheer strength, and it’s this physicality that is what Tony Bennett and company are loving about the big man.
The Virginia secondary is a No Fly Zone (Cavalier Daily)
These Cavalier safeties are wreaking havoc after having shown a newfound relentlessness to fight this year.
Love & Marriage; ACC players balance football, married life (AP)
What’s it like to be Lindell Stone and the only married person on the entire football team? There’s actually no identity crisis at all there — Stone is so unselfish and such the team player that really, he goes out of his way to make sure he fits in just fine.
Seeds Set for 2018 ACC Women’s Soccer Championship (TheACC)
The Virginia Women’s Soccer team is the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament with a 14-3-0, 7-3-0 ACC record. Just how good is the ACC? Florida State is ranked No. 6 in the country, but is somehow seeded No. 7 in the conference. Yeah, it’s that good. The Hoos will host No. 6 Louisville (12-5-0, 6-4-0 ACC) on Sunday, October 28. Congratulations, by the way, to Coach Steve Swanson for notching his 400th win last night! He’s one of just 11 coaches all-time to achieve that level of greatness.
