UVa Baseball Announces 2019 Hall of Fame Class

After inducting its inaugural 15 member class into the Virginia Baseball Hall of Fame this past January at the annual Step Up to the Plate dinner, the UVa baseball program announced its second class on Wednesday.

The 2019 class will include seven new members, including five more that played under head coach Brian O’Connor, and three that played in at least one of the program’s College World Series appearances.

The 2019 inductees will include: RHP Tim Burcham (1983-85), 2B/OF Phil Gosselin (2008-10), OF Brandon Guyer (2005-07), C/1B John Hicks (2009-11), LHP Casey Lambert (2004-07), 3B Steven Proscia (2009-11) and 2B Mel Roach (1952-53).

The seven members will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at this season’s Step Up to the Plate, to be held January 26, 2019 at John Paul Jones Arena. After being inducted at the event, each member will have a plaque at Davenport Field with their name and accomplishments listed.
