On Monday, while the team was scrimmaging the Ontario Blue Jays, Virginia Sports released the upcoming 2019 schedule for the Cavaliers.
While UVa will open the season at a neutral site tournament and play one or two good teams from another conference, 2019 will surely be different. This season, the Hoos will travel to Arizona to open up the season in a round robin weekend against Vanderbilt, TCU, and Cal State Fullerton. UVa fans are intimately familiar with all three foes since UVa has seen all three in the NCAA Tournament and College World Series.
The ACC schedule is obviously loaded as always. UVa will play host to weekend series against Duke, Pittsburgh, Miami, Florida State, and Louisville, while the away weekends will be at Georgia Tech, NC State, Notre Dame, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech.
The out of conference midweek slate will feature the typical in state rivalries, but UConn will also make a trip to Charlottesville in late March.
In all, the Hoos will take on eight teams that made the NCAA Tournament last year in Vanderbilt, Fullerton, Duke, UConn, NC State, Louisville, FSU, and UNC.
