Virginia fans are hopefully relaxing this week from the perils of the ACC conference play buzzsaw, but there still is quite a bit of uncertainty concerning which of the injured Cavaliers are going to return and when. After losing three starters on the defense, the Hoos were unable to stop Pitt’s running game late in their loss, but there might be good news on that front with this week’s depth chart and press conference:

It looks like Mandy Alonso will be out this week, but according to the following, Joey Blount and Juan Thornhill’s inclusion on the depth chart should be a good sign for the other hurt Hoos.
#UVa’s Bronco Mendenhall says he’s anticipating Mandy Alonso being out this week but they’re “hopeful” that the others will be available.

Today Bronco addressed dealing with the injuries, how last year’s team suffered from lack of depth, and how this year’s squad is not quite as deep as the staff would like to see it.
BRONCO: The roster is getting thin right now. We are about where we were last year. We took some significant hits to key defensive production positions. We are trying to get those guys back as fast as possible. Eventually it will be next guy up, but we are not there yet.

It’s always nice to note how amazing Lester Coleman is, as well.
