We’re bringing you all the latest Around the Corner and a new podcast! Woo! Go Thursday! It’s a slow week in the world of Virginia sports (the basketball team is off until the 19th, so basically, we’re out of things to watch), but we’ve got you covered with everything going on as the Belk Bowl approaches.
Belk Bowl Brings Back Happy Memories for ‘Hoos (UVA Today)
Ahead of Bronco Mendenhall’s crew making the trek to the Belk Bowl, Jeff White did a little reminiscing back to Virginia football’s ‘02 and ‘03 trips to Charlotte.
UVA commit Jowon Briggs on World Bowl roster (Augusta Free Press)
Football recruit Jowon Briggs, a four-star defensive tackle, is on the roster for the Pro Football Hall of Fame World Bowl, which will be played on Saturday, Dec. 22 in Mexico City.
Former Virginia coach Dom Starsia will join the Premier Lacrosse League. Starsia parted ways with the Cavaliers after the 2016 season but has served as an assistant for the last year for the Boston Cannons in the Major Lacrosse League. He declined an opportunity to be an MLL head coach before joining the PLL.
If you want more... SB Nation’s College Crosse site has more info on all six PLL coaches scheduled to be announced tomorrow.
TOTD:
Juan Thornhill did a little writing of his own for The Athlete’s Guide–check it out.
Lunch is over! How about some fun reading that could be the key to getting you to the next level? Probably more fun than 5th period history....@juan_thornhill of @uvafootball can provide the pre-class entertainment you need. What a story!https://t.co/vPiuFmp6PJ
