NCAA Team Sheet: Virginia Cavaliers

UVa remains the top ranked team in the RPI and still has a stellar NCAA Tournament Resume

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-First Round-Maryland vs Xavier Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

After beating Georgia Tech on Wednesday night to secure the No. 1 seed for the ACC Tournament in two weeks and clinch at least a share of their 3rd ACC regular season title in five years.

So, we now turn our attention to the NCAA Tournament, as we have every Friday.

Virginia remains in a stellar spot, as they have since the NCAA tournament selection committee named them the No. 1 overall seed for March. Much remains unchanged since UVa has gone 2-0 in that time period and remains atop the RPI. Not to mention, they are No. 1 in the KPI, Strength of Record Index, and in KenPom’s ranking. They’re No. 2 in ESPN’s BPI and No. 3 in Sagarin, giving them a 1.5 average. The next closest team is Villanova with a 2.1667 average thanks to being No. 1 in the BPI and Sagarin.

No matter, UVa’s team sheet still looks almost flawless:

The Georgia Tech home win gives UVa another Quad 3 win, and it appears UNC Greensboro has been winning some games for themselves!

UVa has three games remaining, and each fall into a different Quadrant. With the ACC Regular season wrapped up it will remain to be seen how Bennett approaches the final two games against Louisville and Notre Dame.

Still, barring an unforeseen collapse, UVa likely has a No. 1 seed in next month’s NCAA Tournament all wrapped up.
