Former Virginia big man Anthony Gill tipped the ball in at the buzzer, giving his Khimki Moscow squad the 68-66 win over Unicaja and helped bolster his team’s chance at the playoffs.

Khimki had only led for 20 seconds in the game until Gill’s tip-in on a missed three from teammate Alexey Shved. Check it out:

From Euro Hoops:

With the scoreboard tied (66 – 66) and 8 seconds left Alexey Shved tried to win the game. He missed a well-defended triple but Anthony Gill appeared with a game-winner tip-in. Khimki hadn’t been in charge of the game since the second quarter.

Gill finished with seven points, four rebounds, and two blocks in the game. He’s averaging just over nine points and 4.5 rebounds per game. He’s started in 18 of Khimki Moscow’s 19 games.

Thanks to Gill’s heroics, Khimki now has a 12-9 record and are in 7th place in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings.
