Cavaliers’ Baseball Set to Start ACC Tournament on Tuesday

We’ve officially reached uncharted territory with the Cavaliers baseball program under Coach O’Connor.

Truth be told, we’ve probably been here for a few weeks, but there was still a sliver of hope over the final two weekend series of the 2018 regular seasons campaign.

But here we are; UVa officially needs to run the table at the ACC Tournament to make the NCAA Tournament.

The good news is that even though the Hoos dropped their final series of the season on Saturday to Wake Forest, they were able to jump Pittsburgh and Notre Dame in the standings to earn the 10 seed in this week’s tournament.

That means they’ll get to play #3 seed NC State and #6 seed Florida State in pool play.

For those that don’t remember, last year the ACC switched to a 12 team ACC Tournament. The first aspect is pool play which features four pools of three teams each. The winners of each pool advance to Saturday’s single elimination semifinal games, with the winners of those two games advancing to Sunday’s Championship game.

Virginia’s first game will be against Florida State on Tuesday at 3 PM. The second game of UVa’s pool play will be Thursday at 3 against the Wolfpack.

All the ACC Tournament games will be carried on RSN and the ACC Network, but because you likely live in the ACC footprint, it will likely be blacked out for stream online.
