The Washington Capitals are one huge win away from securing their first ever Stanley Cup after the Caps notched a dominant 5-2 win over the Las Vegas Golden Knights in Game 4 on Monday night. With the win, the Caps extended their series lead to 3-1.

Before the game began, a couple big name baseball stars from the nearby Washington Nationals helped kick off the festivities. Pitcher Max Scherzer was joined by first baseman — and Virginia baseball alum — Ryan Zimmerman to lead the crowd in a raucous cheer.

This is awesome already, but the fact that Zim and Scherzer are in full on hockey gear makes this incredible. The Caps jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first period. Things got a little stressful late in the third as Vegas got within two goals at 4-2, but the Caps responded with a power play goal to put the game away.

It looks like he had a pretty good time at the game:

The series now heads to Vegas, but perhaps we’ll see more of Zimmerman and his hockey helmet if the Knights force a Game 6.
