I don’t know that anyone is enjoying their summer more than Virginia’s head football coach Bronco Mendenhall. The Wahoo head honcho took to Twitter a couple of days ago to post this gem:
Good for the soul! #NewStandard #GoHoos pic.twitter.com/NA757bj3ME

Yep, that’s Bronco, hanging ten.
Bronco’s affinity for surfing is nothing new. In his introductory press conference at Virginia, the new head coach mentioned the aquatic sport saying, “I love solitude and renewal … waves do it for me. So, I don’t know where I’m going to go, and what the surfing looks like here, but I’ll find out in a short amount of time.”
And why shouldn’t he relax? The Hoos are racking up the commits, including four-star players Hunter Stewart and Jowon Briggs. Coach Mendenhall and Athletic Director Carla Williams seem to be on the same page when it comes to confronting the “structural problem” that exists with regards to Virginia Football.
Then, highly coveted in-state defensive tackle Ben Smiley posted this last night:
Smiley committed briefly earlier this summer, but within 16 minutes had rescinded his commitment. The Hoos are still looking good to land Smiley, and that Instagram post has to make Virginia fans feel a little more easy.
Plus, he seems to enjoy hanging out Bronco’s house in Charlottesville:

Defensive back Antonio Webb (c/o 2020) was impressed with his future coach’s skills on the water:

So enjoy your summer, Wahoos. Be like Bronco and hit the beach.
