Slow Virginia Cavaliers news day yesterday, but we went international to find some interesting links for y’all.
QB R.J. Harvey discusses his recent commitment to the Hoos (Orlando Sentinel)
R.J. Harvey took a few questions from the Orlando Sentinel’s Chris Hays on Tuesday regarding his college decision. Harvey expressed how crucial it was that Virginia recruited him as a quarterback specifically, citing that it was his dream to play the position at a Power 5. Congrats, R.J., we’ll see you in Charlottesville soon!
Cavaliers dealing with injuries up front (The Daily Progress)
Offensive guard R.J. Proctor and OG/center Jake Fieler are a little banged up and are sitting a few practices out due to injury. Similar injuries are on the defensive side, but most interesting from this is that Bronco Mendenhall says that the Ohio State transfer Dylan Thompson is “behind schedule” finishing up coursework. If he can’t finish up his coursework, he won’t be playing for Virginia, so hold on to your butts, folks.
Thanks you to all the coaches that have recruited me, but after talking with my family these will be my final five schools! pic.twitter.com/a99Jhut9Gl

Big time basketball recruit Chase Hunter, a high three star according to 247Sports, narrowed his list to five just a few days ago. While the Hoos made the cut this time around, fans should temper their expectations, as Hunter has deep ties to the University of Georgia, where his mother, father, and brother have all competed on varsity teams.

Speaking of practice, several UVA teams started their own team preseason work on Wednesday: volleyball, men’s soccer, and field hockey. The fall season is just around the corner (no pun intended)!

We’re talkin’ bout the EMUS, people! But why? That’s because incoming freshman Kody Stattman is on this Australian national team and is out there makin’ moves.
