Updated college basketball recruiting rankings reflect well on Virginia, Tony Bennett

247 Sports has the Hoos among the nation’s best classes for 2019

247 Sports released an updated list of its evaluations for the class of 2019 on Wednesday. And that addition of Kadin Shedrick for the Virginia Cavaliers on Monday is starting to look even better.

Shedrick jumped 38 spots, from #90 to the #52 overall recruit. With Casey Morsell coming in at #66, UVA touts the seventh best class nationally—and the best in the ACC. Prior to the update, Virginia trailed North Carolina in the conference rankings.

Several Virginia targets for the 2019 cycle moved significantly as well. Center Oscar Tshiebwe jumped 53 spots, earning a five-star rating and a place in the national top 20. Combo guard Chase Hunter moved up 77 places to #97 overall.

If UVA holds its place at 7th nationally, 2019 would be the highest rated class for Tony Bennett since the 2016 class of Kyle Guy, Ty Jerome, Jay Huff, and Deandre Hunter. That class finished 7th as well.
