The Virginia Cavaliers got a big shot in the arm on Thursday night as defensive lineman Dylan Thompson said on Twitter that he will soon be Charlottesville-bound.

As recently as last Friday, UVA coach Bronco Mendenhall said that Thompson, a graduate transfer from the Ohio State Buckeyes, was “unlikely” to join the team and add much-needed depth in the trenches. Thompson told the Daily Progress on Tuesday that it was simply a logistical hold-up and that he only needed to pass an online-proctored exam to complete the process.
Dylan Thompson, Virginia's grad transfer DT from Ohio State, said he's confident Thursday or Friday will be the day of his arrival to UVA. The main hold-up is finding a flight, he says. And his enrollment is contingent on passing an online-proctored final he's taking this week.

Thompson appears to be just in time, as students move in this weekend and classes begin on Tuesday. He projects to be an end in Mendenhall’s 3-4 scheme, opposite Mandy Alonso with Eli Hanback at nose tackle.
And not only is he excited to show up, he appears to be ready to make up for lost time.
With pleasure

We expect to have an update and/or confirmation at Mendenhall’s next media availability.
