Put your clothes back on, this is a family website.

Join the Streaking the Lawn team and fellow readers at the STL tailgate to kick off the 2018 campaign! Follow the link to RSVP so that we know how much food and beverages to provide. Thanks to our friends at Snowing in Space for sponsoring the tailgate, and for making the best nitro cold brew in the business!

We’ve done it, everyone. We’ve survived the dead of summer and are finally, officially, in GAME WEEK! This week the Virginia Cavaliers will play host to the Richmond Spiders, and over the course of the week, you’re going to see the team here at Streaking the Lawn get back into the full swing of things as we preview the matchup.

Meanwhile, you’re probably getting back into the swing of things as well. And if it’s been awhile since you’ve really perused STL or you haven’t joined us for the football season, we wanted to give you a head’s up of what to expect and how you can join the conversation.

Coverage to Expect

Our coverage can vary week to week depending on what’s the latest and greatest that happened the week before, but you can typically expect that from Sunday to Tuesday, we’ll be focusing on what happened the week before. This includes a look back at all the ACC games from the past weekend, a deeper dive at how Virginia did and where there might be room for improvement, and an updated Bowl Watch following the weekend’s events. We’ll throw in some bonus coverage as well, like Hoos in the NFL and a look around at some recruiting updates.

Starting Wednesday, we’ll turn our attention to the upcoming game, starting with THE COLUMN and including the Streaking the Lawn Podcast, The Big Preview, our STL Power Rankings, and everything in between.

Game Day

Every game day, we’ll make sure you have all the essentials you’ll need to find the game on TV or radio or internet or carrier pigeon—you name it, and we’ll make sure you’ve got access to it. Join us starting half an hour before kickoff, when we launch the Game Thread, your landing spot to chat real time with the rest of the STL audience in the comment section. The comments will automatically refresh real time, so no need to hit refresh over and over!

If you can’t make the game or the game thread, swing by afterwards for our immediate reaction to the game by way of our rapid recap. It’ll be a great spot for you to get #madonline.

Got Hot Takes?

Did you know that you don’t have to be on the STL Staff to get yourself published here? Check out our Fan Posts section on the right side column of the home page—it looks like the image to the right here. That’s where fans can sound off with their own thoughts. It’s complete, unadulterated, hot take heaven. (We monitor but do not moderate it, which is to say, feel free to speak your piece, but don’t get offensive, and know that what you read there doesn’t reflect the opinions of the STL Staff.)

When you’re tired of reading other people’s hot takes and are ready to get in on the action, just post your own. From time to time, we’ll promote some of that content to the front page, and if in the long term you’re interested in writing for STL, that’s the best way to get yourself noticed.

Follow Along

Aside from this website—which, somehow, is 100% free—there are a ton of other ways to follow along with STL. We can be found on Twitter (@STL_UVA), Instagram (@streakingthelawn), and Facebook (f/Streakingthelawn).

If you want to follow the entire STL crew on Twitter, here’s a handy list to add us all on.

Got Any Questions?

If you have any questions about how to maximize your STL experience (hint: come to the tailgate), just let us know in the comments below. Otherwise, if you have more general questions about Virginia Athletics or want us to cover something in particular, either on the site or on the podcast, feel free to email me at any time!
