The Ray Guy Award is an annual award handed out to the nation’s top collegiate punter. Former ACC punters Durant Brooks (2007) of Georgia Tech and Ryan Plackemeier (2005) of Wake Forest have won in the past.
In 2017, Coleman was named to the Second Team All-ACC and was a member of the All-ACC Academic Team. 16 of Coleman’s 29 punts last year were downed inside the 10 yard line and was was No. 2 in the ACC and No. 7 nationally with 29 punts downed inside the 20 yard line.
The Award’s list will be trimmed to ten semifinalists in early November with the list further trimmed to three finalist towards the end of the month. The winner will be announced at The Home depot College Football Awards which airs on ESPN in December.
