The Virginia Cavaliers Men’s Basketball Team earns a top five spot in another preseason ranking, Chris Long uses Twitter with a teammate to discuss a political issue, and men’s soccer gets their second victory of the year at Klöckner Stadium on Tuesday night.
Virginia ranks top five in Jeff Goodman's poll (Watch Stadium)
Virginia finished fifth in Jeff Goodman's top 25 preseason rankings. In his analysis of UVA, Goodman referenced Head Coach Tony Bennett's remarkable 73-17 ACC record in the last five years, good for tops in the conference. The Hoos came in behind Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, and Gonzaga on the list.
Philadelphia Eagle Malcolm Jenkins posted a video with teammate and former Hoo Chris Long yesterday, touching on the issue of cash bail. Both Jenkins and Long referenced several cases in their discussion. Check out the video below to hear what they have to say.
Innocent until proven guilty? 70% of people in prison have NOT been convicted of a crime but can’t pay the bail. Why did #KaliefBrowder spend 3 years in jail for a crime he didn't commit? Why does freedom have a price tag? #EndCashBail & follow @playercoalition pic.twitter.com/9rUccNMlDg— Malcolm Jenkins (@MalcolmJenkins) September 11, 2018
The Virginia Men’s Soccer Team (2-0-2) got back to their winning ways on Tuesday night, besting Marshall, 1-0. Freshman Happi Kamseu’s goal was the difference, as Colin Shutler was able to keep the opposition off the board (again).
Did somebody say basketball?!
