The ACC released the 2018-19 men’s basketball conference schedule Thursday, and it’s a doozy for the Virginia Cavaliers. Tony Bennett will have his work cut out for him if the Hoos want to repeat as ACC regular season and tournament title winners.
Virginia’s non-conference schedule opens on November 6th with Towson and is highlighted by trips to the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas and to College Park to face Maryland in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
The ACC slate kicks off in 2019 at home against Florida State on January 5, followed by back-to-back trips to Boston College and Clemson on January 9 and 12, respectively. Virginia hosts Virginia Tech on January 15, then immediately hits the road again to hope to repeat last season’s win at Cameron Indoor as they play Duke January 19.
Virginia will have three Saturday-Monday quick turns, with two of them coming on back-to-back weeks in February. First, Virginia hosts Duke February 9 for their second meeting of the season, then hit the road to Chapel Hill to play the Tar Heels on February 11. The following Saturday (February 16) Virginia will welcome Notre Dame to Charlottesville before traveling to Blacksburg to play Virginia Tech. Finally, the Hoos have a February 2 game against Pitt, followed by a trip to the Carrier Dome and Syracuse on February 4.
The ACC tournament kicks off March 12 in Charlotte and runs through March 16.
