Will the rain ever go away?

NCAA Football: Virginia vs Ohio Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

More football coverage on STL yesterday, as we provided updated depth charts, looked back at the Ohio game, and forward to Saturday’s matchup with Louisville. Let’s find out more about what’s going on with the Virginia Cavaliers:

Senior Olamide Zaccheaus set a UVA school record for receiving yards in a single game in Saturday’s contest against Ohio. On Monday, the ACC named Zaccheaus, who amassed 247 yards in total, the ACC receiver of the week for his efforts.

Virginia goalkeeper Colin Shutler also earned ACC accolades yesterday, becoming the conference’s defensive player of the week for the second time this season. Shutler has allowed just one goal through the team’s four games thus far.

For players on the UVA football team not used to Atlantic Coast weather, the first three games have certainly been an eye-opener. Quarterback Bryce Perkins, who was in Arizona for the beginning of his college football career, admitted, "I've never been around rain. I was shocked." We'll see how the weather holds up this weekend when Louisville comes to town.

Megan Wilson, a sophomore on UVA’s volleyball team, recently discussed how she manages to study astrophysics (!), while also competing on a division one sports team. Check out the video below for her story.
