Although we’re in the full swing of all things football, there’s always time for news on the basketball front. The Athletic Coast Conference released Thursday (September 6) future locations for the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament and tip-off times for the 2018 ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

The 2019 ACC Tournament is set to take place in Charlotte, NC, March 12-16, and the Hoos will enter the coming season as reigning champs after taking down UNC in the title game in Brooklyn last March. After Charlotte, the ACC tournament is set to return to Greensboro, NC in 2020, then Washington, DC in 2021, and back to Brooklyn, NY in 2022.

“The next four years of the ACC Tournament will be played in locations that are tremendously meaningful to the ACC, our players, coaches, alumni and fans,” ACC Commissioner John Swofford said in the press release. “All four cities offer first class venues and hospitality for our league, and we appreciate the continued partnership with each of these outstanding communities.”

This year marks the first tournament in Charlotte since 2008, and was the site of Virginia’s ill-fated 2018 NCAA tournament loss. Greensboro last hosted in 2015, and “JPJ South” held thousands of raucous Virginia fans as the Hoos captured their first ACC title in 37 years in 2014.

Washington, DC will host again in 2021 after serving as the 2016 site. The Hoos made the finals in DC, but fell just short of the championship in a well-played game against UNC. Most recently, the tournament played two years at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, which will serve as host in 2022.

In other ACC basketball news, the tip times for this season’s ACC/Big Ten Challenge were released, with the Hoos scoring a 7pm tip in College Park against Maryland. The game will take place on November 28 and will air on either ESPN or ESPN2.
