Falcons sign Benkert to reserve/futures contract (Atlanta Falcons)
After participating on the practice squad for the majority of the season, the Atlanta Falcons re-signed former Virginia Cavaliers quarterback Kurt Benkert to a reserve/futures contract, giving them his claiming rights for next year.
Virginia outplayed South Carolina in Saturday’s Belk Bowl in just about every facet of the game. As a result, UVA had the top five highest-graded players in the contest, led by senior safety Juan Thornhill, according to Pro Football Focus.

Virginia football signee praised in Under Armour AA Game practice (247 Sports)
UVA commit Jowon Briggs was named a top performer on the first day of practice at the Under Armour All-America Game. Briggs, a senior at Walnut Hills in Cincinnati, Ohio, dominated the competition at both tackle and end.
