On Saturday, the Virginia Cavaliers defeated the Clemson Tigers in Littlejohn Coliseum, 63-43, picking up their twelfth straight ACC road victory along the way. Shortly thereafter, we learned that ESPN will feature UVa in their first College GameDay of the season when the Hoos travel to Durham for a matchup with Duke this coming weekend. Head Coach Tony Bennett also awarded sophomore forward Austin Katstra with a scholarship at the end of practice on Sunday.

College Football News ranked UVa’s Bronco Mendenhall as the fourth best head coach during postseason play. The article cites Mendenhall and Virginia’s win as a “potential breakthrough moment.”

Former Wahoo Danielle Collins, who is currently ranked 35th in the world, upset 14th seeded Julia Goerges in three sets in the first round of the Australian Open yesterday. The win was Collins’ first ever victory in grand slam competition.

The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams both captured victories over rival Virginia Tech on Saturday afternoon in the last home meet of the season. Senior Zach Fong broke the school record in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 45.53 seconds.
