On Friday morning, we learned that Virginia football icon George Welsh passed away at the age of 85. Welsh, who served as the team’s head coach from 1982-2000, compiled a record of 134-86-3 during his time on the Charlottesville sidelines. On Saturday, men’s basketball started ACC play on a high note, beating No. 9 Florida State 65-52.
The Associated Press named senior safety Juan Thornhill to their All-Bowl team on Friday. Thornhill, who led the team in interceptions this season, recorded six tackles and a pick in UVa’s Belk Bowl victory.
Congratulations to @Juan_Thornhill who was named to the @AP's All-Bowl team after his performance in the 2018 @BelkBowl ‼️

Virginia alum Dontrelle Inman, who the Indianapolis Colts signed on October 16th, scored a touchdown in yesterday’s wild-card win against the Houston Texans. In all, Inman hauled in four receptions for 53 yards on the day.

A Key performance could be key for Virginia’s long-term success (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
Braxton Key had a breakout performance in Saturday’s win against Florida State, making an impact on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. Games like these from the junior transfer, who scored a season-high 20 points on the afternoon, are significant for a team that will certainly need a spark off the bench moving forward.
