It was a tough day all around for Virginia football on Friday night, as the Cavaliers, who lost star cornerback Bryce Hall to injury in the first half, fell to Miami on the road, 17-9. After the game, Caroline and Paul offered their thoughts on the offense’s struggles in the red zone, while Kyle provided his weekly takeaways. In basketball news, we profiled Mamadi Diakite ahead of his senior season and gave the latest on the Hoos in the NBA.

Thanks to senior Meghan McCool’s header in the second overtime period, No. 1 Virginia women’s soccer bested defending national champion and fifth-ranked Florida State on Sunday, 1-0. With the win, the Hoos continue to remain unbeaten on the year and now stand at 11-0-3.

Justin Anderson poured in 15 points off the bench on Friday Night for the Washington Wizards. Through four preseason games, Anderson has averaged 9.8 points, 1.8 assists, and 2.3 rebounds.

Head men’s basketball head coach Tony Bennett introduced the other Tony Bennett at Saturday night’s “Honor the Future” campaign concert held on the Lawn.
