Thanks to Friday’s divisional loss at Miami, the Virginia Cavaliers saw their grip on an Orange Bowl berth slip in Week 8’s Bowl Watch, posted yesterday. Pierce, Caroline, and Matt addressed those struggles in this week’s STL Podcast, and discussed where the team can go from here.
Wizards waive three players (Washington Wizards)
After just 29 days with the team, the Washington Wizards announced that they waived forward Justin Anderson. Anderson had averaged 9.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists through four preseason games.
In case you missed it, Ryan Zimmerman and the Washington Nationals advanced to the World Series on Monday night. Zimmerman, a member of the UVA baseball team from 2003-2005, has been a crucial part of the team’s cinderella run, going 9 for 31 at the plate with 5 RBI’s so far this postseason.
In 2005, the Nationals took Ryan Zimmerman with the team’s first-ever pick in the MLB Draft.
