Virginia’s All-American defensive back Bryce Hall won’t be taking the field today for the Cavaliers’ game against Duke. Hall, who needed surgery for his season-ending ankle injury against Miami, is watching today’s game from afar, but his teammates made sure his presence was known regardless.

Hall posted to his personal Instagram on Wednesday that he was at home being taken care of by his mother and thanked everyone who reached out to him with support after his injury.

Said Hall in the post:

Update: Had surgery on Sunday morning to repair my broken ankle, everything went great. Back at my house now getting spoiled by this AMAZING woman - the best mom for real ♥️ and extremely grateful for my team, coaches, family, friends for all the non-stop love & encouragement, ya boy is doing well & in good hands✊

De’Vante Cross is getting the start opposite Nick Grant in the secondary, and the Hoos and Blue Devils will kick off at 3:30 pm ET the ACC Network. Stay tuned for updates!
