The ACC held Media Day for Women’s Basketball this past week, and Virginia head coach Tina Thompson made the trip to Charlotte, NC with players Jocelyn Willoughby and Dominique Toussaint.

Both players and coach spent time with media, recorded videos and content for the conference, and spoke with a panel on ACC Network.

The Cavaliers struggled in Thompson’s first season at the helm as Virginia battled with a lean roster that was riddled with injury issues. Virginia finished the season 12-19 (5-11 ACC), but had a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Virginia Tech in Charlottesville. The Hoos defeated Boston College in the first round of the ACC tournament before falling to Syracuse to end the season.

Willoughby and Toussaint headline a Cavalier team that brings in five freshman and gets redshirt freshman Amandine Toi back from injury. Center Felicia Aiyeotan and forward Lisa Jablonowski return for Virginia to provide added experience. The Hoos will once again play a difficult schedule that features the gauntlet of ACC play and a trip to Storrs, CT to face national powerhouse UCONN.

Thompson is excited about her team for the upcoming season:

Throughout the day, the trio was all smiles:
