Virginia Football re-enters the Top 25 at No. 22

Hoos face No. 3 Clemson on Saturday in ACC title game.

The Virginia Cavaliers have re-entered the AP Poll this week at No. 21 after the Hoos took out the Hokies to win the ACC’s Coastal Division. Virginia was last ranked in the October 6 poll, when they were No. 20 before falling on the road at Miami. Clemson, Virginia’s next opponent, stayed steady at No. 3 and was the only other ACC team ranked.

This is the first time that the Hoos have been ranked in December since 2007.

There was no change in the top three as LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, and Georgia stayed put. Alabama fell to No. 9 after losing to Auburn in the Iron Bowl, making room for Utah in the No. 5 spot.

Virginia was also No. 22 in this week’s Coaches Poll.
