Plenty of good news for Virginia football, which moved to No. 24 in Week 14’s SB Nation FanPulse, yesterday, as Jordan Mack, Bryce Perkins and Noah Taylor all received conference recognition. Men’s basketball also jumped up to No. 5 in the AP Poll.
National Team of the Week (Football Writers of America)
Never mind the individual accolades, the Wahoos also took home the Football Writers Association of America’s National Team of the Week honors, thanks to Friday’s Coastal-clinching win over Virginia Tech. This is the first time UVA has earned this distinction.

On Tuesday, it was announced that UVA head coach Tony Bennett is joining Hoops2o, an initiative started by Malcolm Brogdon that helps to provide clean, accessible drinking water to areas in need. Later this week, Brogdon and Bennett will help the program, which works in unison with Chris Long’s Waterboys foundation, make its debut engagement, as they plan on raising awareness for the cause during Sunday’s game against UNC.

After battling a right ankle sprain for over a month and appearing in a pair of G League rehab assignments, Ty Jerome finally made his NBA debut on Monday evening for the Phoenix Suns, scoring four points, including the two above, to go along with four assists, three rebounds and three steals in 12 minutes of game action.
