Who will Virginia be playing at home and away in ACC play?

NCAA Basketball: Virginia at North Carolina Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Next year, the ACC is moving to a 20-game basketball schedule, up two from the current 18-game setup. Each team will have two permanent “rivals” and then rotate the remaining 12 teams through “repeat” (play twice in the season), “home only”, and “away only”.

The Virginia Cavaliers keep Virginia Tech and Louisville as their rivals, meaning the Hoos will play both teams at home and on the road every season. The ACC released the remaining matchups for the next three seasons today and here’s how it stacks up for the Hoos:

2019-2020

Home: Virginia Tech, Louisville, Boston College, Florida State, North Carolina, Syracuse, Clemson, Duke, NC State, Notre Dame

Away: Virginia Tech, Louisville, Boston College, Florida State, North Carolina, Syracuse, Georgia Tech, Miami, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest

2020-2021

Home: Virginia Tech, Louisville, Georgia Tech, NC State, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Miami, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Syracuse

Away: Virginia Tech, Louisville, Georgia Tech, NC State, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Florida State

2021-2022

Home: Virginia Tech, Louisville, Clemson, Duke, Miami, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Wake Forest, Florida State, Georgia Tech

Away: Virginia Tech, Louisville, Clemson, Duke, Miami, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Syracuse

Virginia will have a great home slate next season with Va Tech, Duke, UNC, Louisville, Syracuse, and Notre Dame all coming to Charlottesville. Duke and Virginia will play a home and away series again in 2021-22. Not sure if basketball will follow the footsteps of kicking off the season with a conference game, but we’ll know more as we get closer to next season.
