It’s going to be a light week on content this week as the flu has hit my house like a ton of bricks. I did want to get back on the horse after last week’s 1-5-1 week, however. Sure there there was the bad beat of the Miami/UNC game going into OT, but sometimes that just happens. On to the picks.
Notre Dame @ Virginia
KP: Virginia -20 , O/U 122
Vegas: Virginia -16.5, O/U 124
At 122, I leaned towards the over, but at 124 I liked the under. Either way, I think UVA rolls and value seems to be on the spread. Notre Dame can’t hang with the Hoos in JPJ, so I think Virginia wins big.
Pick: Virginia -16.5
Clemson @ Louisville
KP: Louisville -7, O/U 133
Vegas: Louisville -5, O/U 132
What can you say about Tuesday night? I’m interested to see how the Cardinals react to their utter meltdown against the Duke Blue Devils. I could see that game derail their season or they could respond and show us they’re an elite team in college basketball this season. Personally, I think it will be the latter, and they respond this week with Clemson coming to town.
Pick: Louisville -5
North Carolina @ Wake Forest
KP: Wake Forest +17, O/U 157
Vegas: Wake Forest +17, O/U 159
Normally, after a team plays Virginia, I lean the over in their next game. And while I think UNC can totally score 88 or more, I don’t think Wake Forest gets to 71
Pick: Under 157
Florida State @ Georgia Tech
KP: Georgia Tech +6, O/U 130
Vegas: Georgia Tech +6.5, O/U 130
Florida State is on a tear lately, and Georgia Tech is in the midst of a six game losing streaking. I think those trends continue and FSU comes away with a solid victory.
Pick: Florida State -6.5
Virginia Tech @ Pittsburgh
KP: Pittsburgh +6, O/U 132
Vegas: Pittsburgh +6, O/U 133
Just like Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh is reeling as their losing streak has hit eight games. Even without Justin Robinson, Kerry Blackshear can be the difference and lead the Hokies to a win.
Pick: VaTech -6
NC State @ Duke
KP: Duke -19, O/U 159
Vegas: Duke -17, O/U 159
NC State won’t be able to hang with Duke and their pressure defense won’t be a problem for Duke. Once in the half court, NC State has trouble defending. On the flip side NC State creates offense with turnovers. If the turnovers aren’t there, where they get points. Just like the UNC/Wake Forest game, Duke might score 88, but I don’t see NC State scoring 71.
Pick: Under 159
Sunday
Miami @ Boston College
KP: Boston College -1, O/U 141
Miami hasn’t been good away from home. I still like Boston College (on brand), so only needing to get the win is good enough for me.
Pick: Boston College -1
Season Total: ATS (26-16-1), O/U (19-14), Total (45-30-1)
