As a lead in for the primetime, must see matchup between the Virginia Cavaliers and Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, ESPN U is set to air a historical marathon of Duke-UVa matchups from the hardwood.
Credit to CavsCorner’s Brandon Lloyd for discovering this gem and sharing it with the masses.
Beginning tonight at 11pm, ESPNU is running 12 straight hours of classic Duke/UVa games spanning from 1990 to the first matchup this season

As Brandon pointed out, the marathon begins at 11 PM tonight and runs right into Gameday at 11 AM Saturday morning. According to Comcast’s guide, the games to be shown include:
February 8, 1990: UVa 72 - Duke 69 in Charlottesville.
January 5, 2000: Duke 109 - UVa 100 in Charlottesville.
February 1, 2007 (shout out $$’s floater and your writer soon after on the court): UVa 68 - Duke 66 in Charlottesville.
January 12, 2012: Duke 61 - UVa 58 in Durham.
February 13, 2016: Duke 63 - UVa 62 in Durham.
February 15, 2017: Duke 65 - UVa 55 in Charlottesville.
and last month’s two point Duke victory to end it.
Of the seven games ESPN U is choosing to show, Duke won five. Personally, I think they could have added the Valentine’s Game of 2001, but this is still cool nonetheless.
Make sure to set your DVRs so you can watch these former big games rather that the other games going on Saturday afternoon.
