Alas, championship week is coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean the #content will. There’s still plenty to discuss after the Virginia Cavaliers took home the 2019 NCAA tournament title. First: get your gear. No celebration is complete without the commemorative swag. Second: brush up on your draft knowledge. You never know who might go! Third, relive the magic of Monday night one more time and say goodbye to the tired narratives that have inaccurately characterized Virginia basketball for too long.
And finally, check out what else is happening around the corner.
Way-too-early ACC power rankings for 2019-20: Virginia, again? (The Athletic) $$
The Athletic has your Virginia Cavaliers finishing on top of the conference again next year–with or without whoever may leave for the 2019 NBA draft. Even if Ty Jerome departs with De’Andre Hunter (which most think is a given at this point and they like to have some fun with that fact), Kyle Guy, Kihei Clark and Mamadi Diakite could still run the ACC.
Dick Bennett’s Pack Line defense was the basis for Tony Bennett’s own program at Virginia. But despite teaching him almost everything he knows, Dick still gets too nervous to watch Tony’s teams. He made it out on Monday night though and man, it was worth it.
