NBA Draft Lottery is set, giving more ideas where De’Andre Hunter could land

Cleveland, Phoenix, Chicago, or Atlanta could land the Virginia star.

The 2019 NBA Draft Lottery is now complete, and Virginia fans have a little bit more of an idea of where De’Andre Hunter could land during the NBA Draft on June 20. In a dramatic turn of events, the New Orleans Pelicans landed the No. 1 pick, despite having just a 6% chance of earning the top spot.

Zion Williamson will likely (definitely) go to the Pelicans with the first pick, and that could even impact whether Anthony Davis decides to stay in New Orleans. The Memphis Grizzlies got the second pick, followed by the New York Knicks in third and the Los Angeles Lakers in fourth.

Here’s the full draft order:

  1. New Orleans Pelicans
  2. Memphis Grizzlies
  3. New York Knicks
  4. Los Angeles Lakers
  5. Cleveland Cavaliers
  6. Phoenix Suns
  7. Chicago Bulls
  8. Atlanta Hawks
  9. Washington Wizards
  10. Atlanta Hawks
  11. Minnesota Timberwolves
  12. Charlotte Hornets
  13. Miami Heat
  14. Boston Celtics
  15. Detroit Pistons
  16. Orlando Magic
  17. Brooklyn Nets
  18. Indiana Pacers
  19. San Antonio Spurs
  20. Boston Celtics
  21. Oklahoma City Thunder
  22. Boston Celtics
  23. Utah Jazz
  24. Philadelphia 76ers
  25. Portland Trail Blazers
  26. Cleveland Cavaliers
  27. Brooklyn Nets
  28. Golden State Warriors
  29. San Antonio Spurs
  30. Milwaukee Bucks

With Hunter expected to go in the pick 5-8 range, it’s likely he will end up with the Cavaliers, Suns, Bulls, or Hawks. SB Nation projects Hunter to the Cleveland Cavaliers, which could be a great fit under new head coach (and former Michigan coach) John Beilein. Hunter recently withdrew from the NBA Combine, which could be to avoid injury or as a result of promises of going at a certain position.

Hunter is joined by Virginia teammates Ty Jerome and Kyle Guy in the draft, and Mamadi Diakite has been participating in the G-League Elite Camp.

Where do you think Hunter lands?
