UVa football landed its fifth commitment for the 2020 class this weekend with the pledge from wide receiver Lavel Davis. Davis was visiting grounds this weekend and announced his pledge on social media before leaving Charlottesville. The Woodland (Dorchester, SC) product is a big dude - listed most recently at 6’6” and 215 lbs. Davis is so far unranked by rivals.com and 247sports.com but did hold offers from Georgia Tech and Appalachian State, among others.

Of course, some of UVa’s best players were initially unheralded recruits (Bryce Hall, for one), so Davis’ stock may rise this summer. Walk-on Andrew Spaziani is currently the tallest listed wideout on the UVa roster, but this year’s graduation of Hasise Dubois will create a need for a tall option on the outside. Davis joins a 2020 class of commits that includes Jimmy Christ (OT), Bud Clark (CB), Jahmeer Carter (DT), and Jestus Johnson (C).
Welcome, to our newest Wahoo!
