Bryce Hall named to preseason All-ACC team

Plus, Perkins receives votes for preseason ACC POY

NCAA Football: North Carolina at Virginia Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

One day after Clemson and Virginia football were announced as the favorites to win their respective divisions — as voted by the media — the ACC announced the preseason All-ACC teams and individual accolades. The Cavaliers got representation on the All-ACC defensive team thanks to highly touted cornerback Bryce Hall.

Hall’s 122 votes were the most for any defensive player. He also is one of just six players from the Coastal Division represented on any of the three teams. Miami’s Brevin Jordan, Shaquille Quarterman and Michael Pinckney, Duke’s Deon Jackson, and Pitt’s Maurice Ffrench were the other Coastal reps.

Unsurprisingly, Clemson led the way with 13 of 27 possible spots taken by Tigers. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence was selected as the preseason ACC Player of the Year, with Virginia’s Bryce Perkins earning six votes.
