Every weekday, we deliver UVA links outside of STL that you may have missed from the day before. It’s our look Around The Corner.

With the fall athletic season starting up in the very near future, we’re back for our second year of “Around The Corner,” a daily blog that highlights some of the most recent articles, posts, and tweets that pertain to the world of UVA sports. So, without further ado, let’s check in on what’s happening as the summer begins to wind down:

Former Virginia big man Isaiah Wilkins signed with Polpharma Starogard Gdański of the Polish Basketball League over the weekend. Wilkins was formerly with the Canterbury Rams in New Zealand, where he was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year after averaging 11.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

On Saturday, Carl Söderlund, 2019’s ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Year, captured the singles championship at the Koksijde Men’s Trophy ITF World Tennis Tour tournament in Belgium. With the win, Söderlund has now claimed three professional titles.

2020 football commit Ira Armstead, the 40th-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the country according to 247 Sports, speaks a little bit on his decision to choose UVA and what he hopes to accomplish during his time in Charlottesville.

Tweet of the Day:

Always nice to see a couple of former Hoos living it up in the pros!
