Men’s lacrosse, Bryce Perkins awarded, news from Justin Anderson

In addition to previewing the Virginia Cavaliers’ next football opponent in 2019, the Old Dominion Monarchs, we released our podcast projecting how the season will go as a whole in Bronco Mendenhall’s fourth year at the helm. In other news, reports have surfaced that say UVA baseball pitching coach Karl Kuhn, a member of the coaching staff since 2003, is on his way to Radford to become the Highlanders new head coach.

For the second year in a row, the reigning men’s lacrosse national champions, otherwise known as your Virginia Cavaliers, will get the chance to play against the U.S. men’s national team in the annual Team USA Fall Classic, located in Baltimore, Maryland. And, new this year, the NCAA champs will also match up with the world’s other power in the sport: the Canadian men’s senior team.

The complete tournament schedule of play, which will run between October 18-20, should be out very soon, according to the U.S. Lacrosse Magazine website.

Allstate Sugar Bowl Announces 2019 Manning Award Watch List (Allstate Sugar Bowl)

The Allstate Sugar Bowl announced the 30 quarterbacks who qualified for this year’s Manning Award Preseason Watch List, yesterday. Among the names was Virginia’s lead-man Bryce Perkins, who returns for his final year of eligibility after gaining 3,603 total yards last season.
