The best part of winning national championships is that we, as fans, can celebrate it for years to come. The 2015 Virginia Cavaliers baseball team won the program’s first-ever College World Series title, just one year after a heartbreaking loss in Game 3 of the same series to Vanderbilt.
The one-hour documentary will give viewers an inside look at “[t]he rise of one of the most successful college baseball programs of the last decade.”
With reflections from Virginia Baseball head coach Brian O’Connor and reactions and accounts from former Virginia stars Ryan Zimmerman, Sean Doolittle, and others (our own Will Campbell has neither confirmed nor denied his appearance in this documentary), 1186 to Omaha: 2015 Virginia Baseball will take fans on the full 1,186-mile journey from Charlottesville to Omaha as Virginia brought home the ACC’s first title since 1955.
The documentary is narrated by ESPN baseball commentator Karl Ravech and will air on Sunday, February 9 at 9:00 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.
