The Senior had 4 sacks and 10 total tackles in UVA’s 44-41 victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday. His four sack performance was the most by a Cavalier since Jamie Sharper also had four against UNC in 1996.
On the season Snowden now has 40 total tackles, including tackles resulting in 29.5 yards lost by the opposition. He leads Virginia with five sacks which puts him in the top ten in the ACC.
This marks Snowden’s first honor of 2020, but the third of his career. Snowden was named the ACC linebacker of the week in 2019 for his performance against Old Dominion and in 2018 for his game against Louisville. For 2020 he joins Lavell Davis Jr (rookie and wide receiver) and Zane Zandier (linebacker) as Cavaliers to be named players of the week. Both Davis and Zandier were named after UVA’s game against Duke.
