Unfortunately for UVA fans, news broke this morning that tonight’s matchup against FSU has been postponed - per the conference’s release, due to FSU’s COVID numbers and contract tracing protocols:
The rescheduling follows positive tests, subsequent quarantining, and contact tracing within the Florida State football team. The team is adhering to the outlined protocols within the ACC Medical Advisory Group report, which is available on theACC.com (full report). As was previously announced, the 2020 ACC Football scheduling model includes 11 games (10 conference plus one non-conference), played over at least 13 weeks with each team having two open dates. Through games of Nov. 21, the ACC has played 69 of its 78 scheduled games (88.5 percent). Six of those games have been rescheduled, one non-conference opponent was replaced, one game was canceled and one game was postponed. There have been several changes to the last four weeks of the schedule that can be found on theACC.com.
Florida State’s game against Clemson last weekend was postponed as well due to to COVID protocols - after the two team’s could not agree on how to move forward with a plan to play.
According to Brad Franklin of Cavs Corner, the Virginia team had already arrived in Tallahassee and will now fly back to Charlottesville:
#UVa was in Tallahassee and will now be heading back home.

One has to wonder why this decision couldn’t have been made earlier considering the volume of testing and contact tracing known - before wasting all of the time, money, and jet fuel.
UVA will (hopefully) return to action next Saturday, when they host the Boston College Eagles in Charlottesville. The time and tv station for that matchup has yet to be announced. Until then, I hear Hulu has a new Christmas romcom out.
