The eleventh member of the Virginia Cavaliers class of 2021—and the sixth new high schooler to commit since April 21—is Georgia linebacker West Weeks.

Weeks is rated three stars by both 247 and Rivals; his Rivals rating of 5.7 puts him second in that service’s ranking of UVA commitments this year, just behind Josh McCarron. He chose UVA over offers from Boston College, Duke, Louisville, Kentucky, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt, among others.
Like his fellow linebacker commit Michael Green, Weeks plays WR and TE for his offense. Those offensive skills appear to translate to his play in pass coverage. The athleticism certainly jumps off the screen—not too many linebackers’ film starts with a kickoff return to the house. A first-team all-state selection, Weeks could make an instant contribution on special teams while bulking up to play linebacker at the Power Five level. Given his shorter frame, expect more of an interior or coverage presence from Weeks over the long haul instead of the rangy edge rushers like Charles Snowden or Noah Taylor.
