The Virginia Cavaliers men’s basketball team updated its roster to reflect the jersey numbers for the six players expected to make their UVA debuts in the 2020-21 season.
Jabri Abdur-Rahim, Reece Beekman, and Carson McCorkle formed the three-headed monster that propelled Tony Bennett’s 2020 recruiting class to a top-20 ranking. Walk-on guard Malachi Poindexter, who played his prep ball at St. Anne’s-Belfield in Charlottesville, is the other member of the Hoos’ freshman class.
Transfers round out the sextet: Sam Hauser, the sharp-shooting forward who sat out last season after transferring from Marquette; and Trey Murphy III, the 6-foot-9 guard transfer from Rice. Murphy will follow in Hauser’s footsteps and take a transfer redshirt this season.
