The West Virginian combo guard becomes the first committed player for Tony Bennett’s 2022 class and starts the group off with strong rankings and national recognition. McKneely is a 4-star recruit according to 247sports and Rivals and holds a composite ranking of .9765 on 247sports. For reference, Reece Beekman had a composite ranking of .9764. McKneely is listed at 6’4, 170lbs and hails from Poca, West Virginia. He’s also the top-ranked recruit from the state in the 2022 class:
As you can see from his highlights, McKneely looks like he has the strength to play high level college ball right away. He’s a stellar shooter as well and shoots the ball with a nice quick release. His size and strength will certainly help his transition learning the packline defense and a short glimpse of his highlights will answer any questions about his general athletic ability:
Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, Purdue, Virginia and West Virginia remain in the hunt for ESPN four-star guard Isaac McKneely.

McKneely does play for the Wildcats Select AAU program, whose recent alumni include WVU forward Jalen Briggs (former four star recruit) and WVU-to-Kentucky transfer Oscar Tshiebwe (former four star and recruiting target of UVA). You might be asking yourself, what’s McKneely’s high school mascot at Poca High? Why it’s the Dots, of course:
